The JNC acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands on which we work, the Gadigal and Bidjigal People of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge that these lands always were and always will be Aboriginal lands. We celebrate First Nations Peoples’ connection to the land and recognise the importance of Indigenous voices and culture. We would like to advise that there may be images or videos on this website of people who have since passed.

Parenting Program: Bilingualism Workshop for Parents and Carers

Come along to a free Bilingualism parenting workshop for parents and cares on Thurs 9 June 2016 in Matraville.

The South Randwick Community Hub Partnership is excited to offer parents and carers a free workshop on bilingualism.

Australia is proud of its cultural diversity. Many of us speak more than one language. We would like our children to be able to speak our first language too. But how do we do this so that they are confident to speak two languages without confusion?

We are holding the Bilingualism workshop to provide parents and carers with useful tips. We want to support you to nourish your children culturally and be able to speak your first language as well as English.

At this FREE workshop you will learn more about:

  • Typical language development and recognising issues
  • Ways to encourage your child’s language develepment
  • Easy guidelines on raising a child in a bilingual environment

9.30am – 11.30am Thursday 9th June
Matraville Public School
