Family Fun Day in a welcoming week
Just three more weeks to Family Fun Day in Matraville!
On Friday 30 November we will be welcoming the whole community to Memorial Park in Matraville, offering the chance to have fun, meet others in the community, and access support services that promote inclusion.
Some of what’s on offer:
- a climbing wall
- a BBQ and other free food and giveaways
- an activity from the Rabbitohs
- other organised games
- visitors from Police and Fire Services, Surf Lifesaving Australia – and more
Social Inclusion Week
It’s no coincidence that this year’s Family Fun Day runs during Social Inclusion Week – 24 November to 2 December 2018.
In fact, both events have been running for about the same time – this is our 9th consecutive event, and it’s ten years since Social Inclusion Week began. The aim of this week is to help all Australians feel included and valued, and have the opportunity to participate fully in society. Organisations are encouraged to run events that connect people, in order to build and strengthen relationships or networks.
These aims are aligned with those of our own event. Together with our event partners, we ensure that our Fun Day meets the brief of including people and offering way to address isolation.
