ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The JNC acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands on which we work, the Gadigal and Bidjigal People of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge that these lands always were and always will be Aboriginal lands. We celebrate First Nations Peoples’ connection to the land and recognise the importance of Indigenous voices and culture. We would like to advise that there may be images or videos on this website of people who have since passed.

Mental Health Month 2023

It’s Mental Health Month, folks! This years theme is “We All Have A Role To Play.” This theme celebrates the unique ways we can support mental health conversations and actions. It doesn’t matter if you’re a School Superstar, an Amazing Ally or something else – we all have a part to play in taking care of ourselves and others around us. To kick off this important month, we had a sizzling BBQ party at JNC Maroubra. More than 75 people showed up, and we served up over as many sausages!

For the rest of the month we will continue to celebrate Mental Health Month in the community with:

  • Bondi Junction Community BBQ – 10th October (11am-1pm) 59 Newland Street Bondi
  • Special Mental Health Month Events at our Community Outreach locations, see posters on site or ask your JNC contact for more information

It is important to recognise that mental health is just as important as physical health. Mental Health Month serves as a reminder that we need to not only take care of our own mental health but also support others in our community. By participating in events and workshops, we can learn more about mental health and how to support those who may be struggling. We can also take steps to prioritise our own mental health, such as practicing self-care.
