Mental Health Day from the JNC

October 23, 2018

Mental Health Day at Namatjira in Chifley on 26 October is a key Junction Neighbourhood Centre event in October, which is Mental Health Month. This month The JNC has offered events that give you the chance to develop better mental health and wellbeing. And there’s another event coming up this Friday 26 October.

Free Feelgood day on Friday

Come along to our free ‘feelgood day’ on 26 October 2018, a Mental Health Day for the community run by the Namatjira Dreaming Community and The JNC.

Want to know more about healthy eating? Maintaining your home? Exercise for older people? Want to try out some tai chi and enjoy a free BBQ? Come to the Community Room on Namatjira Place, Chifley from 11am-2pm.

Share the journey

‘Share the journey’, the Mental Health Month theme, means telling your friends and family when things are a bit tough – finding others who have been through something similar – connecting with your community – finding a health professional you trust – connecting on social media – giving your pet a cuddle – and more.

Are you sharing the journey to better mental health and wellbeing?

Have a look at the Mental Health Month website of WayAhead Mental Health Association NSW  for resources and more information.  And have a look at organisations like beyondblue for very informative fact sheets.

More than a single Mental Health Day

Consider making connections in your community every month – not just October. Look at our Monthly Calendar for programs and events, and if you are 65 or older, also see our Aged Support Services .
