ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The JNC acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands on which we work, the Gadigal and Bidjigal People of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge that these lands always were and always will be Aboriginal lands. We celebrate First Nations Peoples’ connection to the land and recognise the importance of Indigenous voices and culture. We would like to advise that there may be images or videos on this website of people who have since passed.

Art Workshops for the Community

The JNC is running free 2 x 2hour art workshops for the community.

Two x 2 hour Art Workshops

Expressing oneself can be difficult to verbalise at times. Join us and explore your feelings through creativity at our friendly art workshops. We have engaged a highly experienced volunteer Art Facilitator, Teresa Castellanos, to lead the Art Workshops.

You do not need to be a great artist, or have any training in art. All art materials are supplied by The JNC. The group is warm and welcoming. Simply bring yourself and let your imagination take over!

About the Facilitator

Teresa Castellanos has worked with the Dept. of Education (NSW) for 32 years as an Art Teacher, as Head Teacher of Visual and Performing Arts and as Deputy Principal. She has taught Art and Photography to high school students. Teresa has taught Ceramics to adults at Parramatta Evening College. She is currently teaching painting to Seniors at Little Bay.

Teresa has offered to share her skills and experience as an art teacher and practicing artist. You will have the opportunity to try different drawing techniques and painting using water colour and mixed media. Members of the community who are interested in exploring art will be inspired!
