ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The JNC acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands on which we work, the Gadigal and Bidjigal People of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge that these lands always were and always will be Aboriginal lands. We celebrate First Nations Peoples’ connection to the land and recognise the importance of Indigenous voices and culture. We would like to advise that there may be images or videos on this website of people who have since passed.

Tuning Into Kids 2022 (August 2022):

“I wish there were more workshops like ”Tuning into Kids’ ‘ out there…The light bulb moment for me was acknowledging that, due to trauma , my son’s emotional age is very different from his biological one. Michelle is an amazing facilitator, the way that she empathises, listens and explains everything made me aware of how my own childhood experiences and emotions can impact on the way I connect with my kids, husband and friends.”

Managing Big School Anxieties (December 2022):

This talk was very practical and also to the point, with a focus on creative tips for what you can do for your child to soften the landing when transitioning to Year K. It was particularly helpful to be reminded about what anxiety is age appropriate versus clinical and in need of extra help. We were given suggestions for further resources to support parenting over the coming years, which was great too. Overall, I appreciated the interactive nature of the presentation so we could relate things to ourselves. I highly recommend it to everyone. Thank you very much for offering it. – Carla Lazarus
