Volunteer with JNC
Thinking about volunteering with JNC?
JNC welcomes, encourages and supports the involvement of the community through volunteering.
However, our volunteering opportunities changed during the COVID-19 Pandemic. And we are therefore recruiting for a limited number of roles. But we would love to hear from you. Please register your interest in supporting your community.
If you leave your details on this form, we will be in touch as soon as possible.
Please note: It may take us a little while to get back to you, but we really appreciate your support.
How volunteering with JNC makes a difference
Volunteers have always provided valuable assistance. And they’ve made a meaningful contribution to the community.
At JNC, volunteers have supported a wide range of programs. These include Family Support, Aged Services, Information and Referral and Community Capacity Building.
JNC is committed to best practice in volunteer management, and we adhere to national standards. All of our team respect and support this commitment.
Volunteer roles generally include:
• Assisting in social group outings for seniors
• Assistance with individual social support for seniors
• Tutoring and facilitating groups
• Support with administration and collating information
• Computer tutoring
• Event assistant positions
The recruitment process
We welcome volunteers from all ages, cultural backgrounds and areas of experience. The minimum age for volunteering is 18 years of age (unless otherwise stated, for particular cases).
Applicants have access to detailed job descriptions. Then there will be a formal interview process, and this will determine suitability for the role.
JNC carries out the following compulsory checks for applicants. There is no cost to the applicant. These are the required checks:
• Reference Check
• National Police Check
• NSW Working With Children Check. (This is for child-related volunteer positions only.)
Training and induction
Successful applicants take part in a Volunteer Induction Session. JNC’s Volunteer Coordinator is there to support them. They will have job-specific training. Of course, this will vary depending on their role.
