ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The JNC acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands on which we work, the Gadigal and Bidjigal People of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge that these lands always were and always will be Aboriginal lands. We celebrate First Nations Peoples’ connection to the land and recognise the importance of Indigenous voices and culture. We would like to advise that there may be images or videos on this website of people who have since passed.

Put Stress Less Tips into practice!

This October is Mental Health Month. The theme is “Share the Journey”. The JNC has put together a fun calendar for the community with a focus on social connections. Meet someone new, try something new and put this month’s Stress Less Tips into practice.

There will be a range of workshops including Holiday Fun Day at La Perouse Public School, Knitting Class, Chakra Dancing, a Men’s Bus Outing, Garden Walk & Talk and fun Theatre Games. WayAhead Mental Health Association releases 10 Tips to Stress Less each year to help support mental health and wellbeing, JNC has paired activities with 6 tips this month. Can you practice them all?

Theatre Games – With Philip Feinstein

Philip Feinstein from Music for Refugees wants to make us laugh this Mental Health Month. Community members will have the opportunity to laugh and play during Theatre Games on 31st October at JNC Bondi Junction and put Stress Less Tip #2 ‘Laugh Each Day’ into practice.

“I’m a fanatic when it comes to building self-esteem and undoing stress by way of music and theatre games. . . The whole thing is a fun learning experience” – Philip Feinstein, Theatre Games Facilitator
