Aged Support Services
Who should read this page?
You will find this page helpful if you are an older person needing access to support services or assistance getting out into the community, or if you are a friend, relative or carer of an older person.
What can The JNC do?
Our Aged Services provide support to people 65 and over in the Randwick and Waverley LGAs and the City of Sydney. Our services provide social support and respite to clients and their carers, and also offer specific support to the Russian and Chinese speaking communities.
Our social support workers and volunteers will assist you to be more independent at home and in the community. This can enhance your quality of life and your wellbeing, and support you to live at home.
We use an enabling approach – this means focusing on what you can and want to do, using your strengths and abilities. You are also encouraged to be actively involved in identifying your goals.
What’s the first step?
You will need to be registered with myagedcare, which is a government service covering all areas of support you might need: medical, cleaning and respite services etc. The full range of services is listed at the myagedcare website.
To register, phone myagedcare on 1800 200 422. Available Monday-Friday 8am-8pm, Saturday 10am-2pm.
What can I do if I find it hard to register?
